Frequently Asked Question about the Merger

  1. When will I receive my new account number? Account numbers will be mailed once the conversion to our core software processor takes place.
  2. How much money are we required to have on deposit to be considered a member? Western PA FCU has a $5.00 par that is kept on hold for membership purposes.
  3. Can I open a checking account? Yes, once the conversion is complete.  We have Draft Accounts, and your first set of 25 checks is free.
  4. Can I still make deposits and withdrawals from my account? Yes, you can mail in a check to 2300 Freeport Rd., New Kensington, PA 15068., bring the deposit to our New Kensington office or make arrangements to drop off at our Latrobe office., or once the conversion is complete, arrange to make an electronic deposit from your other bank account via ACH or mobile remote deposit. Mobile remote deposit is accessible through our app which is available in both the Apple and Google app stores. You can request a check withdrawal by calling 724-339-0635 and we can mail you a check the same day or plan to meet by appointment at our Latrobe office.
  5. What types of loans are offered by the new credit union? We offer personal loans, 100% and 50% Share or Certificate secured loans, new and used auto loans, and home equity loans, as well as a credit card.

  7. When can I purchase a Certificate of Deposit from the new credit union? Once the data conversion is complete.
  8. Will I have access to my accounts online? Yes, once the conversion is complete you will be able to access your account balances, transfer funds between credit union accounts (including loan accounts), and request withdrawals by check to be mailed or picked up in person. The URL https://westernpafcu.org/ is for our website which has the enrollment section for home banking.
  9. Who can I contact if I have questions about my account? Our office is open in New Kensington Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The phone number to call is 724-339-0635. Our staff looks forward to helping make this transition as smooth as possible. Our Latrobe Office is open by appointment only at this time.
  10. I make electronic payments to my credit union loans. Will anything change? We will be sending out new ACH Authorization forms that will need to be completed, signed and returned to us once the conversion is complete.
  11. I mail payments for my credit union loans. Where should I send my payments? Our mailing address: Western PA Federal Credit Union, 2300 Freeport Road, Suite 15, New Kensington, PA 15068.  The Latrobe office will only be open BY APPOINTMENT in the beginning. We recommend sending your payment to the New Kensington office for faster processing.
  12. Will there be any changes to the process for payroll deductions? No, not currently. Continue to contact the payroll department if you wish to make changes to your deduction.
  13. Can I apply for a credit card? Yes. Our credit card offers 12.75% APR.
  14. What additional products and services will be available with the new credit union? We offer share (savings) accounts, draft (checking) accounts, Christmas Club accounts, personal and auto loans.
